The U.S. Coast Guard is forming four Maritime Safety and Security Teams (MSST). With a hundred personnel and six specially equipped 25 foot boats (that can be put on trailers and flown where needed), the MSSTs are trained to deal with actual or potential chemical or biological attacks against any of the United State's 361 ports, or anywhere along America's 152,000 kilometers of coastline. A third of the MSST personnel will be from the reserves and the first four teams will be based at Seattle, WA, Houston, TX, Long Beach, CA and Porthmouth, VA.
