India denounced Pakistan for using nuclear blackmail in it's standoff with India over Kashmir. But Indian military officials also said that if the infiltration across the Line of Control continued to stay low, India could withdraw it's troops within 2-3 months. 

In the northern tribal areas, American cash and lots of talking have allowed, for the first time, Pakistani army troops to patrol. The troops are looking for al Qaeda and Taliban and many tribal chiefs have allowed their own people to hunt Taliban and al Qaeda leaders with large rewards on them. But most of these people are believed to have seen this coming and either left the country or moved to Pakistani Kashmir (where the Pakistani army is not searching for them.)
