Despite the bad press they get, the Maoists continue to kidnap and hold teenagers, threaten journalists with death (if they write anything negative about Maoists) and threaten the economy. The Maoists also continue to threaten and kill civilians that disagree with them. More and more people in the countryside are meeting violence with violence when dealing with the Maoists. While many Napalese agree with the Maoist demands for economic change, there is much less support for Maoist methods of getting those changes.
