 In the south, MILF rebels destroyed part of a water pipeline, disrupting the water supply for about 100,000 people. 

On Basilan, police raided the hideout of a group of MILF rebels that have turned to banditry and kidnapping. Five of the rebels were killed. This group had been helping Abu Sayyaf. 

Elsewhere in the south, rebel attacks left nine civilians and nine rebels dead.
