Rwanda: A Little Bit of Iraq Falls Flat

Archives

: August 13, 2005

FNL Hutu rebels in Burundi have killed at least one hundred civilians in the month of July. June was likewise a bloody month, with nearly 200 civilian deaths. The FNL -- which refused to join the peace process--is pursuing a strategy similar to the Saddamist/al Qaeda terrorists in Iraq: Sow as much chaos as possible and try to incite another Hutu-Tutsi civil war. The FNL has been as unsuccessful as the Sunni Arab terrorists in Iraq, even though the FNL terror campaign has gotten practically no media coverage outside Burundi.
